GAME OF LIFE OF THE BOY VUK JOVANOVIĆ

 Five year old boy Vuk Jovanovic lives with his parents and older brother Bogdan in the settlement of Delijski Vis in Municipality of Palilula. What sets it apart from its peers is that instead of a carefree childhood, Vuk suffers from a rare disease which is diagnosed as NEK-bowel resection. After five operations that Vuk had at the Institute for Mother and Child in Belgrade, his colon and most of the small intestines were removed. He had his first surgery at an age of five months, and then three failed attempts of surgery on his kidney. The struggle for life continues. According to the report of doctors, Vuk is a medical phenomenon, because he is practically the only patient in Europe that had the worst form of the disease and survived with this diagnosis.

ENERGY EFICIENT HOUSING

 As part of activities marking the "City of Nis Energy Week 2013th" City Municipality of Palilula-Nis, presented the results of one of the project "Development and improvement of the competitiveness of SME in the field of Energy Efficiency in Buildings", which was implemented in cooperation with partner organizations (Construction Cluster "Opeka Brick", City of Nis-Department of planning and Development, EKOPOLIS-Media environmental Network Serbia) with the support of LEDIB (Local Economic Development Balkans). Promotion of the results of the project was held at the National Theatre in Nis.

STUDENTS WORK ON
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

 Primary and secondary schools in the territory of Palilula in Nis, have actively participated in the activities of the international project "LIVING GREEN" by sending for the contest "LIVING-GREEN RETURN TO NATURE", during the past month. The competition provided that the forms of expression on the topic can be: an essay; drawing; photographs, sculptures made of natural materials. In collaboration with school principals, teachers, coordinators of these activities, the project team and representatives of the Office of Youth of Palilula completed the selection of submitted papers.

SEVENTH SESSION OF THE PALILULA MUNICIPALITY ASSEMBLY

 The seventh ordinary session of the Assembly of Palilula, chaired by the President of the Assembly Milos Stojkovic, was held on Friday 14th June in the hall of the cultural center of Nis.After approving the record of the 6th Regular Session, councilors made the decision about final accounts of Municipality of Palilula for year 2012. The session also adopted a decision amending the Decision on remuneration of councilors, members of working bodies and councilors of the assembly of Palilula. Solutions were passed on the removal of the Election Commission Palilula and the appointment of new members of Election Commission in the new session.

TRAVELING TO THE CRADLE OF HUMANITY

 The tenth-EKOPOLIS fest- International Review of Environmental and Archaeological Film was completed in Nis Cultural Centre. This unique film event, organized by the Serbian Environmental Network Media-EKOpolis, under the auspices of Palilula in Nis, was marked by the celebration of 1700.godina the Edict of Milan and the city's celebration of Saint Car Constantine and Jelena-Palilula Night 2013th. According to Boban Džunić, President of Municipality of Palilula, a program of documentaries of Prof. Dragana Mitic gave a special touch to this event, and then also works by authors from Germany, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro.

WORKING TEAM SOLVES THE PROBLEM OF POPULATION IN LANDSLIDE

 At the meeting of the City Council there was a task force formed to develop a plan of activities and measures to solve the housing problems of the villagers from Mramor and Krušce, whose houses are threatened by landslide. Some of the residents have spent over a month in tents next to the City Hall, in order to encourage the city government to help them. It was decided at the meeting of the City Council that Coordinator of the Task Team to address housing damaged by landslides in Mramor and Krusce will be Predrag Savic, a city councilor, and the team will also consist of Boban Dzunic, President of Municipality of Palilula, Milos Stojkovic, President of Assembly of Palilula, as well as representatives of the town planning Institute of Property and Inspection Nis, Department of City of Nis, Republic Geodetic Authority and the Department of Planning and construction.

AWARDS FOR THE WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

 At a ceremony organized in the framework of 10th EKOPOLIS fest-International Review of Ecological and Archaeological Film and labeling June 5th World Environment Day, representatives of Municipality of Palilula and Media Environmental Network-EKOpolis have all acknowledged a number of organizations and individuals to contribute to protect the environment. After presenting awards and greetings by professor of the Faculty of Occupational Safety, proffesor Dragan Mitic, the films just begin to show: KUNUVIČKA BATTLE by Dragan Mitic, the film One Day in the country are (One Day on Earth), authors of Kyle Riddick & Brandon Litman, the U.S.; My EKOPOLIS, Milena Vidojković, Serbia, Lacus timavi directed by: Giorgio Gregorio, Italy. This decision was taken on April 22nd, Earth Day, and the implementation of international projects "Living Green", "One Day on Earth", "Clean up the World 2013 and its realization is continued.

OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION "RENAISSANCE BYZANTIUM"

 Multimedia artists Association "Constantine," one of the most active art 'associations in Nis, this year took part in the "PALILULA NIGHT 2013" – during the city celebration of "St. Constantine and Helen" and the celebration of the Great Jubilee - 1700 years of the Edict of Milan. Under the auspices of Municipality of Palilula and in association with the Gallery of Modern Art in Nis, there was an organized exhibition called "Renaissance of the Byzantine Empire in 2013." Participants and organizers of the eleventh annual exhibition of multimedia artists, the Gallery SLU "Pavilion Fortress" was welcomed by Mr. Slavoljub Todorovic Zorkin, President of the Association and prof.Milić Petrovic, honorary president and director of the Gallery of Modern Art in Nis. The exhibition was opened in the presence of numerous guests, by Boban Džunić, president of Municipality of Palilula.

Municipality of Palilula, recognized as part of the city which fosters the spirit of the old bazaar, aristocratic and bohemian Nis, hosted on this occasion on the Palilula railway ramps and in the Episkopska street, excepted the contractors of the cultural program and a number of guests from the city of Nis, Serbia and Bulgaria.

YOUTH SPORTS DAY ON BUBANJ

 In the space of the memorial complex-recreational sports and tourist center of the park, "Bubanj", which is due to projects of Municipality of Palilula quickly renovated and regulated, three members of Scout and volunteers of the Youth Palilula, participated in the "Sports Day." Fledglings, bees and younger Scouts of the "Đuka Dinić '," KraljPetar "and" Jadran ", competed in darts, tow rope, tying knots, and other tests of skill from scout disciplines. "This young sports activity is part of the" Palilula evening in 2013", and the program is marking the city celebration, held in the beautiful setting of the complex Bubanj. "We succeeded in this area, within the EU CBC cooperation with the Bulgarian Municipality Bobov Dol, with the support of the reconstruct office of European Union.
